May 5, 2015 – Hamilton, ON – Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS)
Workplaces across the continent will be planning their activities and programs for North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week, May 3-9, 2015. In addition to the variety of resources and tools the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has to help workplaces create their own safety week program, CCOHS is hosting two free online events; a webinar and Twitter Chat.
Live Webinar - Ages and Stages: Working Safely and Well Together
Tuesday, May 5, 2015, 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. EDT
When workers are at different ages and stages, occupational health and safety research has shown that they can have different mental and physical needs. Join Jan Chappel, Senior Technical Specialist at CCOHS, as she outlines how workers — whether they are new to the working world, young, aging, or part of another vulnerable working population – can benefit from a well-planned approach to health and safety. Participants will learn what an organization needs to keep in mind when developing workplace health and safety orientation, health communication and related programs, so that everyone, at any age or stage, can stay safe and well, and succeed at work. A recorded session of the webinar will be made available after the live event, and can be watched on-demand. More information on how to register is available on the CCOHS website.
Twitter Chat – Ages and Stages: Working Safely and Well Together
Thursday, May 7, 2015, 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. EDT
The conversation on new, young, and aging workers continues on Thursday with a Twitter Chat with Jessie Callaghan, Senior Technical Specialist at CCOHS. More information on how to participate in the Twitter chat can be found at http://twubs.com/CCOHSchat.
